Justin Bieber Cancels All Fan Meet & Greets On ‘Purpose’ Tour: They Make Me ‘Depressed’

Justin Bieber crushed beliebers' hearts March 22 by announcing that he was canceling the rest of his hugely popular fan meet and greets for the duration of his ‘Purpose’ tour. He revealed to fans that the experience simply leaves him too emotionally drained and depressed to perform.

So shocking! Justin Bieber, 22, has a whole lot of people to say “Sorry” to as he abruptly pulled the plug on all of his fan meet and greets, and he’s only been on the road since March 10! He claims that he gets too filled up with “other people’s energy,” and it leaves him drained to the point of depression! Does he have any idea how many fans with tickets to meet the Biebs are going to be devastated by this news? Read on for Justin’s reasoning for no longer meeting his Beliebers.

Justin dropped the bombshell announcement via his Instagram account, with a picture of him hugging a young fan. “Love u guys.. I’m going to be canceling my meet and greets. I enjoy meeting such incredible people but I end up feeling so drained and filled with so much of other people’s spiritual energy that I end up so drained and unhappy,” the “What Do You Mean?” singer revealed.

He even claimed that meeting with fans has been leaving him incredibly depressed! “Want to make people smile and happy but not at my expense and I always leave feeling mentally and emotionally exhausted to the point of depression.” Yikes Justin! We didn’t know it had come to this for the singer!
“The pressure of meeting people’s expectations of what I’m supposed to be is so much for me to handle and a lot on my shoulders. Never want to disappoint but I feel I would rather give you guys the show and my albums as promised. Can’t tell you how sorry I am, and wish it wasn’t so hard on me. And I want to stay in the healthy mindset I’m in to give you the best show you have ever seen ;),” the singer finished off his long message to his fans.

So far there’s no word on how fans can go about getting refunds for their meet and greets, for which tickets cost between $900 — $2,000. Justin has a very long U.S. tour ahead of him, not wrapping things up until July 19 at Madison Square Garden in New York, so there’s bound to be plenty of Beliebers crying themselves to sleep knowing they won’t be able to meet their idol after all.
